Re: (crimnlmnded)

Nope, made the mistake of trying to use my glovebox. It doesnt rattle anymore. The whole thing just came off in my hands. What total garbage Volvos are. Betcha Volvo is gonna want $500+ to "fix" it. Think they will use duct tape or scotch tape. Never again. This thing is worse than a Korean car, slow, unreliable, handles like poop - complete and utter disgust. Swedefail.

Re: (JoeLvo)

I feel your pain Joe, this car has been nothing but a pain in my pockets since I bought it!
Today for no reason I couldn't open my drivers side door from inside. Had to take apart the whole door panel
just to fix a stupid clip that came off. How does something as small as this happen out of nowhere for no reason. when I left the garage this morning it worked! when I got home from work it didn't. To top it all off it's raining hard out here. in order to get out I had to open the window and reach out to the outside handle then open the door roll up the window, turn off car. Good thing I am somewhat handy and know what I am doing.

Re: (crimnlmnded)

Wow, yeah, it is good you are handy. I'd not even try to take the door panel off. I give up on this thing. The S60R is nothing more than a wooshy clapped out dog. Pity, they made so few we cant even get a halfway decent class action against the bastards.
And I love when fanbois say "oh, you get this with any make". Sure you do, on a couple cars and what-not, but Volvo = pure automotive fail. I get an ill, giggly feeling when I see someone in a brand new Volvo that you KNOW they paid way too much for, is gonna break, a LOT, and is about 5-10 years behind the automotive world (oh, except in safety psh, right). This car no longer has any redeeming qualities. Im sure as SH!T not gonna spend 3-5k for an extra 80 hp that *might* get me to 340 crank hp. Just total weakness.
So I still havent been able to track down the stutter it has (thank you Volvo for not having a dealer network for anything other than butt-raeping your customers, service is garbage garbage GARBAGE), now I have a gaping hole in the dash, where the crapbox used to rattle around at... I'll just stop there, because the list is so long now, its laughable.
Glad you were able to get your door working Criminal, wish I had your skills
Seriously folks, if it wasn't for swedespeed, this thing would have caught fire by now. Being a member here is the only way to own a Volvo, unless you're Mr. Moneybags, and dont mind driving a cloth interiored S40 for 8 months out of the year while Volvo's "service techs" fail, time and again, at fixing your $50k "car", lol.

Do they make sense? Not to me. Doesnt look anything like the gnarly mess behind mine, what with the clips everywhere, no struts, etc...
Oh well, if I break it even more, you think the glovebox is relatively inexpensive, you know, considering its a POS? :: cough - choke :: Sorry, I made myself ruin a keyboard with that one.

Re: (Chilled Man)

Called a fail safe Justin. I'd rather have a $100 dollar part break vs a $1300 dollar part.

Re: (Chilled Man)

At least you weren't told that you need a new $2000 transmission control module on your 2004 Audi A4 with only 50K. That's after having the CVT tranny replaced at 10K mi. Plus it has an engine sludge problem. Apparently the 1.8T motor is prone to sludge which Audi graciously covered after the warranty expired.

Re: (Token Blk Guy)

84k on the R and it has been great. All components are dry(completely no leaks), Very good compression. Except Ignition Lock and 1 Bent Peg there was nothing for 2 years OR should I consider myself lucky?

Re: (MagoonR)

I never deviated from the interval and all oil changes and scheduled maintenance was performed at the dealership (Audi covers all schedule maintenance so its free anyways).

Re: Dear Volvo... (JoeLvo)

My 06 S60R was in the shop every other week and I NEVER drove it. I put less than 8k miles a year on it and finally traded it for a VW Touareg V8. My 03 S80 on the other hand has been nothing but perfect.
