I hate you. I hit a pothole (on a freeway I travel often) and got bulges in both of my right tires on friday. I suppose they were on their way out anyways, and I was fine with replacing them. As I paid, I thought: "well, I'm paying about 700 for tires, i suppose the extra 70 for coverage won't really be putting me any more in the hole."
Then, not 72 hours later, this morning, I am somewhere else entirely, and lo and behold, I am magnetically drawn to yet another pothole that expands across the entire bridge join, and this time take out the left side. I feel fantastic, but call work to tell them that I will be working remote today, and then follow up with AAA, and the people that just put the General Exclaim UHP tires on, hoping that brand new tires had enough tread to protect the rims.
Even better, the reason that I was going where I was going, when I was, is because the fiance accidentally put the steering lock on with the wheels jacked to the right, making the 18 year old 960 unable to be started. So that car was towed by AAA to the indy shop, where it is getting looked at. getting looked at, hopefully it won't be too bad, and perhaps they can just remove that feature.
It's never a great day when you have to call AAA twice in 12 hours. Regardless, ODOT, I appreciate your lack of interest in caring for the roads. It's my brithday on Thursday, please wrap a big bow around I-71 and follow this simple three step process:
Step 1: Fix
Step 2: It
Step 3: FIX IT!
