Have been having some AWD problems with my 07 R lately and had it looked at by the dealer and they found the following problems. I had no AWD, in 1st gear under mild to hard acceleration the front tires would spin until traction control kicked in.

They found the temperature/pressure sensor active on demand coupling
replace.
Differential electronic module (DEM) was faulty.

I've heard of the dreaded angle gear problem but is this a common problem that you guys/girls have seen on our R's??

Also what is the purpose of the temperature switch or pressure sensor?
Car has never been driven in snow/winter.

Thanks!

Yes, very common. Way more common than the angle gear.

Re: Dealer fixed my AWD problem - Temp/Pressure sensor (JT2)

There were some bulletins on this issue. If the sensor is reporting either too high of temps or possible open circuit/high resistance, AWD is disengaged.

Probably a faulty run of sensors from wherever they were sourced. I've replaced a few myself, very simple task.

IIRC, more so on the 2006/2007.......due to the plastic shielding

Can someone tell me where this sensor is located? If you have an actual picture of the underside of our car to show me that would be awesome!

Yes it was fixed within the day and also had the axle ping/knock problem that was fixed. Temporary fix I believe from what I've read, they used the glue to fix it.

I also had this fix on my 07 S60R with less than 9K miles on it.

Anyone else thinking of a dashboard switch?

Does it throw an error code?

My SR had this done at about 30K and the "new" XC90 goes in tomorrow with the same symptoms. Both are 07's.

Re: (Husker Z)

My R had DEM failure and warranty replacement around 42K miles last summer.
