Evening all.
I was at the shop doing my oil change and finally decided to clear my CEL. 00 v70r
Had the usual fault code that tells me to get a new cat but this time i had fault ECM-261a, long term fuel trim upper/lower limit. my boss says it sounds like a failed mass air flow sensor.
On the way home i got in it a little bit but the response was slow and hardly any power.
Still got till 11/09, then the warranty is done. I can get the maf at cost so im thinking this would be cheaper than dealing with VIP. my ded. is $100.00.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Modified by brickhead at 11:08 PM 6-30-2009

Modified by brickhead at 11:13 PM 6-30-2009

Re: Deal with the warranty or out of pocket (brickhead)

Had the same problem with same code. Already had new O2S, kept looking for a vacuum leak.
MAF.
Does it surge when you let off the accelerator, too?

i think what JRL meant to say in his usual terse manner is: "why are you even thinking about buying the maf on your own if you could potentially get a new cat+new maf(or new whatever else that is wrong with your car)+labor for the cost of the deductible? "
find a shop that will work with your extended warranty and go nuts!
