I have a 06 S60 2.5T AWD w/halogens.
I want to get either DDM 55W Slim Ballast HID Kit (same thing that sharphid sells) for $80+ $13.27 UPS GROUND = $93.27 SHIPPED.

or

just replace the bulbs to PIAA xTREME WHITE PLUS 4000K for $62 SHIPPED.

My question is.. does anyone have any experience as to how long the latter bulb will last? a year?

All opinions will be HIGHLY appreciated. http://********************/smile/emcocktl.gif

1) PIAA are overpriced garbage
2) the brighter the halogen light you get the less life it will have

So in the end it is worth getting the 85 dollar HIDs which will last way longer then the slighter brighter halogens that you will not be happy with.

Just my 2 cents
Shoot get the $40 hids wich cost less then the crappy PIAA and be even happier that you saved money and you have much better lighting

Does anyone know if I could replace my 06 Halogen Headlight assembly with a 06 OEM Bi-Xenon Headlight assembly? My dealership says no because the wiring is different?

wiring them up is not going to be the problem, getting your computer to run the HID's is going to be the major obstacle. 05+ CEM's are hopeless when it comes to running aftermarket HID's and the OEM 35w HID's are no different. You need to find some way to flash the computer so it expects HID's and not halogens.
Re: (shagginwagon)

Does anyone know what kit would be best for putting HID's in our fogs?

any HID kit will work fine with the fogs
http://www.sharphid.com h1 bulbs.
just curious, have you or anyone else installed an HID kit on your fogs? just want to know how must splicing if any and where an ideal place to mount the ballasts would be. Also would I need a Bulb-Out warning deletor and would my current fog light switch work?
I have done HID fogs but I have an R bumper so I don't really know what in involved in the fog light housing modification for the stock foglights. The hardest part about the install is deciding on a way to feed the HID bulb's harness through the foglight which usually requires making some sort of hole in the housing itself. However, you don't need any extra harness for the HID fogs to ignite since the CEM does not control the current flow to the foglight relay harness so it actually is plug and play with no funny messages.
Re: (shagginwagon)

Alright thanks man. And I'm guessing the stock foglight switch will still be functional right?
yep. Everything will be the same except that your fogs will be 1000% more awesome.
Would anyone happen to know what HID kit from sharpHID.com is the correct one for an S60. and if i need to buy anything extra? First time trying out HID so idk much about it

nice thanks a lot...thats exactly the information i was looking for
Re: (diablo2828)

yea no prob...johns kits are really nice because there "slim" ballasts....wich u willl be thankfull when ur installing it lol....but yaaaa, compared to all the POS kits out there costing the same or even more, this is one of my favorite.....but one thing...just be prepared to take ur bumper off and lights out to do a correct and clean install.....buy not doing that and not takeing ur time ur bound to break something or something along those lines....let me know if u need instructions on removeing the bumper.
plenty of people have done the install just fine without removing bumper/headlights. You just have to take the airbox out.
Re: (shagginwagon)

truuuu....yeaaa i dont know how to do that, and i was sorta bored soo...i said.."what the hell" ha

It's definitely easier to take out the airbox than the front bumper
