So, got impatient releasing the LCA so I could install a new axle and sliced the ball joint boot. Is there anything to be done, or just have to get a new LCA? I have power flex bushings, so was kind of hoping I could rebuild the existing LCAs.

Thanks,

Dan

I think the ball joints can be pressed out/replaced. Could swear I saw FCP or somebody sold just the ball joints for the P1s, but might be confusing that with the XC90 parts I was shopping for as well ATT. (Interestingly, there’s a thread in the S40 forum about someone trying to repair his torn rear CV boot rather than replace the axle, since there’s no boot kit for that particular one. I stopped following it, but the OP had a plan that may be worth reviewing. Probably too much movement in a ball joint to repair, though.)

Huh. The bolt-on variant seems plentiful on ebay, but the aftermarket guys here don't seem to carry anymore.
