Hello everyone
Much to my surprise I have just received my D5 SE about six weeks before I was expecting it!! Life can be really kind sometimes!
I am very, very pleased with it (now owned for 24 hours!!)
Just a couple of observations on my new car.
Do all the D5's have a swept down steel exhaust tail pipe, I am sure I have seen pictures of the straight chrome type the same as the rest of the S60 range.
After reading a lot about tyres and the questions about Continental on the SE I was surprised to find I have Pirelli P6000 fitted to my car, which seem very good.
And one question which is the best diesel to use in the UK? We have Normal, Ultra low sulphur and City diesel in my usual garage, and all are stated to be EN590, any suggestions as to which would be best?
Thanks for a great forum with loads of advice and information, I look forward to a long and happy life with my D5.
Henry
S60 D5 SE – Scarab Green / off black leather / mesh inlays – Winter pack, Premium pack, Upgrade to premium sound system (HU-803, 4x75W amp 13 speakers)
Henry,
Congrats on your new car, the D5 has been getting excellent reviews! BTW, you can put all the info about your car below in the your signature so you don't have to retype it out each time.
-Drew

But it is a characteristic of the D5 engine (the stainless steel tip pointing down).
Yannis

Hi Henry,
Congratulations! You will really enjoy this car (I have now over 27K KM on mine and it is still a joy to drive each day).
On the best fuel I can not help you either, as I am living in the Netherlands, but the ultra low sulfer and/or city diesel will be more environment friendly.
Hans

Henry
I checked this week and my D5 SE is on schedule for delivery 1st May. Glad to hear you like it. What's the music sound like? (I've also gone for the upgrade)

Hi MJT
I feel the audio (premium system) is really good. I am an audio engineer so I am very critical of sound systems!!
The Dolby Pro Logic I feel is somewhat of a gimmick, as it only gives a surround effect on recordings with a lot of phase differences between the left and right channels, but the effect can be good on accoustic recordings. But I am really pleased that I paid the £250 extra for the Premium sound system (cost above SE)
