After 10 months in my new S60, I found that the tabs in the front middle cupholder are breaking off. I use the cupholder daily on the 15 min. drive to work. The cups are the medium plastic reusable mugs sold by Dunkin Donuts. The dealer says the tab thingy is on back order across the country. Never experienced this with other cars. Just curious if anyone else has seen this minor problem. It is worth mentioning since the tabs keep the cup from falling over and spilling hot coffee.

Are you talking about the rubber tabs that hold the cups in place or you remove the cupholder out fairly often to clean the holder? I had my 2007 S60R for 5yrs and never broke the cupholder tabs that hold it into place, and the cupholder seems to be the exact out of the 2007 S60 with the addition of the 12v outlet.

we have replaced many of them,take it in. just my .02

yes, I did take it in. The replacements are on backorder. The dealer intends to make good. I don't understand if so many have broken, why the design and materials haven't improved. I never had this problem with other cars. Its a minor problem but annoying just the same.
