The lack of useful cup holders in the Volvo, at least for this MY, drives her crazy. Without going into details as to why she feels this way, my question is, will this contraption (or if someone has a link to something that will function better) work for the Volvo? It says it won’t work on all vehicle manufacturer’s cup holders but they seem to sell different products. Wondering if anyone has purchased anything to enhance the cup holder situation of the vehicle? Right now I have the Yeti with the MagSlider lids that I keep in the side door pocket that goes on an angle and keeps the liquid from spilling. That at least adds a third cup that can go in the vehicle.

The doors already have an area with a place for any bottle with a cap/lid. Not following what you mean there.

I don’t know the interior of the recharge but did they get rid of the dual cup holders that my 2016 has?

I have seen products that make single cup holders into dual, but at the cost of height.

If only the ProClip guys did something:)

Hell, I’d be tempted to get into a line of products for my 3D Printing business. That would be cool.

2 in the center console, will usually hold the usual fast food 32 oz at least in one, both depending on cup design. Door pockets in the front each have an area that will hold a drink as well. Back seat on the other hand is a huge issue unless you can put the armrest down. If you’re using the built in booster there’s no cup holding available.

Did the recharge do away with center cup holders? If the recharge uses the same setup as my 2020 T6 they are big enough to hold good size steel water bottles. And as mentioned the doors will hold capped bottles. If the o.p. would give details about the shortcomings that would help the discussion.

Or is this an issue with the less than optimal second row holders?

Nothing in the T8 2nd row unless you pull down center seat. And then they are tiny as hell. I bought an extender like the one linked above. Doesn’t do much for a tall narrow water bottle. Then you need to store it somewhere. Very annoying coming from the Highlander which had a wonderful setup for my kids. Oh well

So true. I usually keep my 7yo in the center built in booster on the rationale that it’s the safest position and it’s all built into the car so there’s nothing to go wrong or be in the wrong position. But when she’s in a rental and gets to sit in a standard belt positioning booster she’s always happy to have a cup holder and more head support.

On a recent trip we had to do an emergency rental car and I picked up a $50 booster from Walmart and she was so happy to have TWO cup holders.
