If you read C&D, you may want to check out this month's issue. In addition to a nice piece on the S60 AWD, there is an editorial by Csaba Csere (pronounced Chubbah Cheddah) and his experience in trying to buy a 2001 XC and ending up with a V70 AWD.
He mentions a dealership by name, and the salesman, where a bit of a messup happens. I guess though, when you run the largest ship in the Automotive media business, you're not to worried about politics.
Anyway, he seems rather satisfied with the car.

I think he wanted to exact revenge on this poor guy wo could probably lose (or already may have lost) his job. Part of the "negative" experience he had was due to his own excessive greed where he wanted to eat his cake and have it too. If I were him (Mr. Shaggy Cheddar), I would have chosen my words more carefully, especially if I know I amwriting for a big (and unfortunately too influential) auto magazine...
Yannis

I read the S60 AWD article, but havn't read the Csaba article. I guess I find it a little surprising that he (a car guy), didn't wait for the Haldex/2.5T equipped versions.
-Drew

If you ask me, that's an abuse of power. He didn't need to name names as it doesn't sound like people were trying to swindle him. It sounds like an honest mistake.
Plus, isn't he the big cahuna at that magazine? You would think he makes a pretty tidy salary that he wouldn't make so much of an issue about it.
Also, you're right InDy. If he was buying a new one anyway, and he is probably in the know just because he is who he is, why not hold out and buy the Haldex 2.5T? Maybe he needed a car right away, but aren't the new ones going to be out by this summer?
Then again, having read it, he did own a RAV4. What a piece of crap that is. They're reliable, but someone in the know also, you would think, not buy a car that has HORRIBLE rear end collision design. It may be safe, but it takes expensive damage pretty easily.
