Came back from vacation today, moved the R to my other parking spot and found a small amount of fluid on the pavement. Looks like regular oil so I crawl underneath and see a drip forming on what looks like to be a transfer case right past the engine (in the front of the car). Is this the weaping fluid from the angle gear problem? Please someone say it aint so....

edit: I meant to say, is my angle gear shot! Wait, maybe it needs to be resealed!

Re: Crud, is my haldex shot? (juve021)

While they're in there, get a new collar gear as well, with the new part number 31256008.

I can almost guarantee you that yours will be worn, and it should only be another 15 minutes of labor to switch it out and I think about $100 for the part.

Cheers,

Jeff

You think this is necessary?

Also, I'm guessing my extended warranty will cover it under powertrain/drivetrain section? (not volvo's VIP)

Re: (juve021)

RESOLVED

Props to Annapolis Volvo!!!

Called up my service advisor TODAY and he said bring it in. Brought it in, 7 hours later he calls me and says, pick it up its done! He said he performed TNN 46-13 - leaking bevel gear re-seal. Best thing was, cost me $100!!! Ext. warranty covered it! YAY! Awesome http://********************/smile/emthup.gif http://********************/smile/emthup.gif
