Have noticed that the "Volvo" emblem in the center of the trunklid on my new S60 is not level -- it tilts to the right. Now that I have discovered this, I can't help seeing it every time I approach the car! Is there any way the dealer can fix it?

Once you remove it, you can't affix it with the original adhesive. You can glue it back with superglue but if you ever attempt to remove it, you will ruin the paint. It might be cheaper, in the long run, to get a new emblem. They are not that expensive.
Yannis

Should I ask the dealer to fix under warranty (new 2003), or buy the part and do it myself? How much is the emblem. Thanks?

Bummer that your whole "VOLVO" is crooked. Mine's not crooked, but the V and the O at the beginning of VOLVO actually TOUCH! (It freaks me out, I guess because I'm anal. Ha ha.)
I gently pushed my O a smidgen to the right (so it wouldn't touch the V), but I had to do it again in about a week, and then again. This was all in June of 2002, so it was warm, which was why it "allowed" me to push it. After the third push, I figured I'd let it be and just try not to look at it. I wouldn't dare touch it now, with temps in the teens, for fear that it'd pop right off, paint and all.
The fact that this thread even exists begs the question "What is their process for alignment and application of these letters?" Whatever it is, it could use a little fixing, imho! Good luck with getting yours fixed (or with trying to ignore it, whichever you end up doing)!

Take off the emblem...it will look much cleaner. Everyone knows it's a Volvo anyway.

i vote take it off--it will reduce the weight of the car and make it faster!

Thanks for the tips. For now, I'm going the "ignore" route, though when it warms up, I may try the Lisa "gentle slide" method. Or maybe, I'll just debadge it for the extra zoom!
KR
