This for a friend of mine with a '97 GLT with 160k on the clock. He is experiencing enough crankcase pressure to push out the dipstick. I am familiar with the flame trap on NA cars. What does the turbo use for crankcase ventilation and where is it located? He just had a new rear main seal put in the car and I don't want him to do that job again. I guess his mechanic should have addressed the crankcase ventilation issue first. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

there should be a vent on the valve cover...or maybe a check-valve which leads to the suction side of the turbo piping.

The whole PCV system has be to cleaned and replaced. Not a good idea to run the car like that, especially if he just changed the rear main seal.

Re: Crankcase Ventilation Problem (Wayne T5)

The Breather Box is under the Intake Manifold. Same as the N/A.<br>Removed the intake Manifold to replace it. Also a good time to replace some nipples.

If you are some what mechanically inclined, this is a do it yourself job. Parts can be purchased together as a kit from places like FCP Groton.

Re: (Evil E)

Thanks. I changed the flame trap on my 850 a couple times but this is my friend's car and he lives a few states away...
