I was really impressed with the driver of the silver S60 R on Rt. 50 yesterday morning who cut in front of me and then floored the gas pedal, in the process kicking up gravel from the milled road surface on to my car's front end and windshield.

Re: COURTEOUS DRIVERS (VR04)

hope there were no dings or chips. try out here for drivers like that, i grew up in langley and visit very infrequently but know what you are talking about. the rush is horrible.
but; let them have the bad day, it is their problem that we have to live with.

I used to have several projects in CT...two in Danbury and two in West Hartford....and I was living in NY at the time!!
I had to pick up my wife from a conference in Old Saybrook. Took 84 to 691 to 66 to 9 to 95 (on off) and down into Saybrook. Nav wanted to send me 84 to 34 to 95 but not on a Friday mid-day during the summer!! But I set waypoints on 691 and 9 and it figured it out fine.
Nice drive, once I got off 84. I hate that road.

Re: COURTEOUS DRIVERS (VR04)

A lot of that milled stuff on my morning commute now too. I have slowed way down- just not worth messing up the R to get to work five minutes earlier.

Re: COURTEOUS DRIVERS (Wayne T5)

My favorite is what we call the Florida right turn.
You're driving in the right or middle lane and someone in the left lane (always going to slow ) decides that THIS is his/her exit and with no signal whatsoever make a right turn cutting you and several other cars off in the process.
(I have known two men on motorcycles that have been killed with this maneuver)

Re: COURTEOUS DRIVERS (JRL)

I've traveled A LOT around this country and around the world and I consistently see this maneuver being most commonly executed on the beltways around Atlanta. Seems to be standard operating procedure and it's usually done with cars near bumper to bumper at 70+ mph (another Atlanta specialty.)

Quote, originally posted by JRL »

My favorite is what we call the Florida right turn.
You're driving in the right or middle lane and someone in the left lane (always going to slow ) decides that THIS is his/her exit and with no signal whatsoever make a right turn cutting you and several other cars off in the process.
(I have known two men on motorcycles that have been killed with this maneuver)

These 5 miles (actually in both directions) almost always have a patrol car sitting and waiting.
