I'm chasing a 1998 S70T5 with 39000 miles!

Would anyone here have an interest if I manage to get this?
Automatic, wood dash and console trim
I know it's Dark Metallic Grey with, I believe, Sand or Taupe leather
Killer low mileage
Again, 39,000 miles!

Possibly, Jim. Do you know any other details? Single owner, records, where it's been for it's 39k miles? Also pics at some point would be great.
Nope, no details.
I DO know it came out of Manhattan. It could be a North Jersey car or a garaged NYC car (which would acct for the low milege) I don't know.
We, as dealers, really have no way (and we wouldn't try anyway as it takes up too much time) of finding these things out on a normal (or even a not so normal car) before we buy them.
I certainly hope I know early Volvos by now enough so I can look at it for 5 minutes and see if it's good or bad.
With the miles I certainly wouldn't worry too much about mechanical and I can easily see if it's been wrecked or not.
Now, do you want it or not
?

SURE!!! Ship it on up... Do I get a 100% satisfaction guarantee with a 30 day return policy (including to and from shipping)?

Seriously, if or when you get more details, let me know. I may be interested.

Thanks

Car was sold (not to me) for an ABSURD amount of money

I cannot believe a dealer paid what it sold for. Needless to say If I had paid that much, I would have had to get over 12 grand for it for it to be worth my while

It went for about what a good 2000 S70 GLT SE with 50K miles sells for, perhaps more

Jim:

There is a guy (private seller) on autotrader selling his 2000 S70 GLT with just over 40k on it for $18,400.00.

Now am I wrong or is that an obsurd amount of money?

These are great cars but I don't think I'd pay that for one.

US or Canadian?
A REAL nice 2000 GLT in the right color with the right equipment (loaded) can/should sell for 12,500 to 13,500 US from a dealer with a warranty. A Bit hard from a private party with no warranty
Remember this is the last year and they have a 5 speed transmission and a couple of other small goodies only found in 2000's.
Besides that, many people (myself included) like the early cars (larger and more roomy than an S60) and ones with few miles are becoming very rare and infrequently up for sale as witnessed by what a dealer paid for that 98

There are VERY FEW T5s (2000). The only one's I've seen lately are those two 5 speeds and I saw one last year with 16,000 miles, the dealer wanted nearly 20 grand for it.
When I asked if he wanted to wholesale it he laughed at me, said he would get it within two weeks, (and it was a southern car, no heated seats).

There always seem to be 2000 GLT SE's with around 50-58K miles available, but you're going to have to pay about $13-13,500 for a good one, at least from me

This post was moved out of for sale to here where I guess it now belongs.

It's interesting to note how much DEALERS now will pay for nice LOW MILEAGE, good condition, S and V70s, even more than I was willing to pay.
I'll always pay a lot for an R or a T5 as I know I have the buyer, but it has trickled down to GLT's too.
I'm always on a search for good (850 and V70) wagons but those too are becoming very hard to find, (the good ones).
Most have been soccer mommed to death and require so much cosmetic rehab there's no money left for me in the deal

Jim,

I have a 99 S70 GLT with 155K on it. It is black with the spoiler and is pretty loaded. Cosmetics are good, but not great. I think I should be able to get about $4-5 for it, but what do you think? I willpost some pics later today after I get home.
Thanks

Maybe,
if everything is up to snuff.
I haven't bought any with those miles as I cannot warranty a car with over 125K.
I have bought 99 GLT's with 120-122K miles for $3000-$3400 if they don't need too much cosmetic or mechanical (work)
