Does anyone know how much the newer (3rd generation) S60 headlamps costs from the dealership? or if you guys know where I can get them anywhere else? They look like these....

Those look more like S80 headlights. Either way, be prepared to pay around $1200 PER headlight for any of the bixenon headlights.

are you sure you can't find those on an S60? if you go to the Volvo website, it has picture of the car with the headlight, like show here

They started coming like that on the 05 S60, NON R. Why dont you call the dealer,not many R people here going to be looking for S60 lights.

Those are not the bixenons then. They are the regular halogen headlights.

So in retrospec, these CAN be put in an S60 with aftermarket plug and play HIDs? Can they??

Sure, but you'll get the bulb out warning light on all the time.

yah, I am going to get the passenger side one soon, and than going to get the driver's side later... this is exciteing because I can put in aftermarket HIDs in them, the R headlights are UGLY

The halogen clear headlights in this S60 picture cost less than $300 a piece new, and IMO they look better than the older R lights.
They can be installed to any S60 or V70 without HIDs, many people have done that.
New HID assembly is 'somewhat' more expensive.

IMHO it's a waste of money. You don't even get projector lights, and putting HID onto those lights will give you worst light on the road than the curent R lights.

It is way to much to lose only for the looks.

If I'll be so ready to pay $300 each and go to all the retrofiting problems I rather choose to pay $1000 each and go the Euro R lights: better look and better light.

hmmm, so doru.... I just don't know how HIDs would cause problems in them? is it because there are no sides? inside dividers?

No because reflector based HID systems are specifically built and shaped for the bulb. Halogen and HID has a completely different filament, on top of being rotate 90 degrees. Sticking HIDs into a halogen based reflector will cause glare.
