The halogen clear headlights in this S60 picture cost less than $300 a piece new, and IMO they look better than the older R lights.
They can be installed to any S60 or V70 without HIDs, many people have done that.
New HID assembly is 'somewhat' more expensive.

IMHO it's a waste of money. You don't even get projector lights, and putting HID onto those lights will give you worst light on the road than the curent R lights.

It is way to much to lose only for the looks.

If I'll be so ready to pay $300 each and go to all the retrofiting problems I rather choose to pay $1000 each and go the Euro R lights: better look and better light.

No because reflector based HID systems are specifically built and shaped for the bulb. Halogen and HID has a completely different filament, on top of being rotate 90 degrees. Sticking HIDs into a halogen based reflector will cause glare.
