Hi everyone, car is at the service dep today for the 22.5k service. I'm also electing to do a balance and alignment.
The service dep just call and said my front pads are down to 2mm "and I should replace them to preven rotor damage". He quotes $227 for just the front 2 - installed.
Does this sound about right?
I know the stock pads are super bad on brake dust but also generally respected as good, so I don't have a lot of desire to put 3rd part ones in.
Thanks for help.

One set of stock front pads costs $95 - $100 on the street.
It can be done by a good technician in under 30 minutes, but they'll want to bill you for an hour labor. Not sure what your dealers charge, I think ours are about $90 / hour here.

Re: cost of brakepad install (Token Blk Guy)

That's likely due to the differing philosophies of building cars between Volvo and Honda. Volvo considers braking to be a huge aspect of safety, so Volvos have always been known for their good stopping ability.
In order to get shorter stopping distances, softer brake pad material must be used. The downside of softer pad material is that it wears quicker.
Thus:
Volvo = soft pad material = shorter stopping distances = pads wear quickly
Honda = harder pad material = longer stopping distances = pads wear longer.
