Hi all,
Here is my problem.
About 8 months ago, my oil light started coming on intermittently. I checked my oil and everything is fine. Eventually it came on constant one day driving home. by the time I got home... I had white smoke coming from my tail pipe.
I let it cool down and test drove it later that evening and I had a real smoker.
After some diagnostic, I found out my Turbo had broken at the shaft.
I replaced my turbo and was back on the road again.
About 4 months later... my oil light starts to flicker while driving and now it comes on solid after 10 minutes of driving.
I do not want any more damage as I have replaced my turbo once. I thought the problem was initially my turbo, but there is clearly another problem here.
It is a 1999 Volvo C70 2.4L 102XXX miles.
Thank you!

Re: continuous problem! Oil light (port0222)

Oil pressure relief valve is opening somewhat. Oil pump is wearing out and oil pressure is too low. PVC trap is blocked or restricted. You have time to do a Seafoam treatment in the oil, then change the oil for a thicker one like 20W50. ASAP put on an oil pressure gauge or get your mechanic to do a reading of the oil pressure when hot, and test or change the relief valve. Your turbo broke from oil starvation.

I suppose the above are possibilities and not all are wrong with your car (needed translation).

Re: (Chilled Man)

Just out of curiosity, have you been doing the oil changes at every 6K? You shouldn't have this problem.
