These are new, now on sale, and will likely replace the existing Conti ExtremeContacts. Both the existing and DWS Conti's are available at TireRack, but the new ones are about $30 more per tire ($139 vs 109).
I need new tires for the R and had all but settled on the existing Contis; last night when I went to order the tires I got tempted by the newer versions
I read the Tire Rack reviews and am wondering whether this tire has the same level of snow performance as the existing Conti's. Anyone have insight?

Re: ContiExtremeContact DWS (HarryHood)

I just bought a set, so far so good but only dry conditions.
If you've had Extremes before, I'm sure these will be at least as good, should be better
Since the tire came out this summer, NO ONE has been able to review them in the snow and won't until the winter.
(unless someone below the Equator tests them, and then, they may not be being offered there yet)!

Is this a good tire for the SR?
My Toyo Proxes are "out of round" and causing a vibration in the car (had wheels balanced, straightened, and aligned but still have the vibration).
Suspension has been checked out by 2 Volvo dealers and everything is tight. They are pointing to tire issue and so are a couple wheel shops (balancer and rim repair shop).
Looking for a good replacement for dry/wet (have winter tires so they may only see light snow if an early or late snow catches me).

Re: (S60inToronto)

I bought the tires about a month ago for my borbet xl 18x8s they are awesome. Tread design is awesome handles extremely well in the rain. And they have a very sporty look to them. The DWS feature is unique it shows you how your tires are wearing and if they can still handle various weather conditions. As for the price there a little expensive but yay for tire rack wholesale and being able to benefit from it.

In tests they did really well in the wet and the main concern was dry performance:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...d=119
I would imagine good wet performance would point to good snow performance, although that's not always conclusive.

Re: ContiExtremeContact DWS (StarmanDXE)

I have these tires on my 17" Pegs on my bro's 2.5T FWD S60 and they are so far knock on wood a really good tire. Dry and Wet performance has been amazing thus far.
