For those who have it check out the September issue, they talk about small luxury SUVs, on one page they list vehicles to stay away from (Audi Q5) several pages later they have it checked as a CR recommended choice. Not sure they even QC their own articles.

They suck
If you do the opposite of what they recommend you're probably ahead.

CR is known for things like this...'Way back in 1966 they declared the Volvo 122S unacceptable because they could not lock the wheels during a panic stop...At the end of this same article they published Volvo's advertised features, which included "Brake proportioing valves to prevent wheel lock-up", which shows that they did not read the specs before they did their testing...They claimed that it took "108 pounds of pedal pressure to lock the wheels, a force that a small woman would be unable to exert"...

Agree, I just find it interesting how they could contradict something just a few pages away

CU is garbage, their reliability ratings have laughably small sample sizes especially for less common cars like Volvos.

It's surprising how they actually don't rate Volvo's very highly for their usability and instead harp on other things in their youtube videos. They constantly complain about poor dash design, user interface, and visibility in other cars, which aren't such a problem in Volvos, yet when they drive Volvos, they fail to point out that Volvo does these things quite well. Instead they focus on negatives of Volvos like ride quality or power delivery. They seem to sort of harp on most cars they drive since I suppose they are showing the negatives that one wouldn't normally think about when purchasing a car. And in a way, it is a bit refreshing to hear them talk about real world application of a vehicle instead of vehemently praising it just since the manufacturer let them drive it for a day or two.
