tried a search and didn't see what i was wanting to ask.
98 v70XC with 128K bought with 105k.
when i got the car i bought 4 kumho solus kh16's. had alignment and balance issues from the get go and thought it was the shop's ignorance. took it to another shop, fixed the alignment, they sd the balance is fine.
after a few weeks, car seemed to pull left, but i thought it was the slope of the road and the sensitivity of the AWD system
edges of the tires started rounding off.
checked tire pressue...fine
had alignment done (bought a 3 year unlimited alignment package)
alignment fine (according to shop) still pulls left.
replaced tires with rounded edges. balance.
new alignment. still pulls left just not quite as bad.
??? is... is this just the awd over reacting to the slope of the road?
i drive approx. 60 miles a day, 50 is interstate. the issue seems to lessen on some roads and worsen on others.
can i jst expect to chew through tires for the remainder of the time i own the car.
any help is sincerely appreciated!!!
Pierce

Re: consistent pull to left after alignment from 2 indep. shops. (sc-pierce)

Worn ball joints or tie rods will cause this. Also, crap tires. Flip the tires from one side to the other, did the pull move to the other side? Bad tire(s).
Also, many alignment shops are crap. Had a Firestone shop 'align' my car to fix a pull by putting 50 lbs of air in one tire. I use a guy who rebuilds wrecks and isn't afraid to pull the car if that's what is needed to get a true alignment. I always get a computerized printout of the b4 and after alignment settings. He also charges at least $100 and sometime more, depending on what he has to do.
Just cuz they said they aligned your car duzn't mean it is correct.
