New to the boards. I am looking for some input in possibly buying a 70XC.
1) Does anyone know if I can put a baby seat in the middle and behind the passenger at the same time? How about three baby seats across the rear seat if I had to??
2) Reliability issues? Not sure about Volvo relability. No experience with Volvos - only Saabs.
3) Does anyone know of any incentives/rebates on the 70XC? I couldn't find any listed on Edmunds or other places.
4) 0-60 on the XC?
5) 3rd row seat? Is this worth it?
6) Best dealers to work with in Dallas?
Thanks Tons!

Welcome misplacedyankee -
The only one I can comment on for sure is the 0-60 time. If you're asking, you probably shouldn't be buying an XC. I own a T5, and have had an XC loaner. The XCs are nice cars, to be sure, but if you're looking for speed, the XC isn't the place to look.
Also know that none of these cars are great drag racers. They excell at highway acceleration when the turbo is at your disposal. Highway passing in the T5 is almost spiritual (he types as he wipes the hint of a tear off his cheek). Off the line they aren't so great.
I really don't think the third seat is worth it either. But it sounds like you have five kids? If that's the case, you may need it regardless of what I think.
Good luck,
Darell

Thanks. I am not looking for a drag racer, I was just curious about the 0 to 60 because I couldn't find it noted anywhere. The XC is for the family. I have a 2000 Saab Viggen for spirited driving.
I don't have five kids, but in the next few years I will have three.

Agree with Darell. To put it bluntly, I don't think the XC is really a "driver's car", but it's a lot closer than an SUV. I think it really comes down to what else you're considering. If you're looking at T5's and RS4's, then the XC will disappoint in terms of performance. If you're looking at 4Runners and MDX's, then the XC will be a nice surprise.
As far as a 0-60 number, Car and Driver has it at 8.6 secs.
Take a look at http://caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddriver/roadtests/2000/October/200010_roadtest_volvo_v70.xml?&page=1. It's a well balanced report of the car, and gives you all the vital stats.
Reliability: I've only owned a Volvo for a month, which I don't think is long enough to give a qualified opinion.
Third row seat: I'd rather have the sub, but then again, I'm not a parent... yet.
