If anyone has successfully done so using a can sniffer device, could you pm me? I'm having issues using a <A HREF="http://www.canusb.com" TARGET="_blank">http://www.canusb.com</A> device. I have connected CanL, CanH(pins 3, 11 on the obdII port) for Lowspeed (125kbps) and ground (pin 5) to the device but I can't read any activity on it. Do I need a 120ohm termination resistor?

After getting several pm's about this, I believe that connecting via the obd port requires a set of initialization requests/sends (because it is connected to the CEM) and this is why I'm not getting any activity. I could be totally wrong but I am about 90% sure on this. <p>New plan is to connect to canbus via the green RTI connector in the trunk. Hopefully this will give me at least some activity on the lowspeed bus.

If you need to go through the CEM you must make the CEM connect the external CAN bus or something.<p>Below are tested for accessing high speed CAN bus, but might also work for low speed CAN bus.<p>10400bps K-line. No initializing<p>84 40 13 B2 F0 03 7C (Connect CAN relay)<br>83 13 40 F2 F0 B8<br>84 40 13 B2 F0 03 7C (Keep alive every 4 seconds. If not the CAN line will be disconnected.)<br>83 13 40 F2 F0 B8<br>...<br>...<br>84 40 13 B2 F0 00 79 (Disconnect CAN relay)<br>83 13 40 F2 F0 B8<p><br>84: 80 + length of command behind addresses<br>40: Target address, CEM on K-line bus<br>13: Source address, Tester<br>B2: Activation command<br>F0: Parameter<br>03: Parameter<br>7C: Checksum<p>Edit:<br>But connecting directly to the inside network is easier I guess.<br>
