Okay, had my wife help me with the compression check. I did not disconnect the rpm sensor (should have in retrospect) and know you are supposed to turn the key OFF between each cranking, so don't leave it on more than 2 minutes (which upsets the throttle body). Well we may have left it on too long. It will crank, but not start and now I think my throttle body is the culprit. It started fine before the compression test. Are there any remidies for this? And the whip cracks.

I suggest you disconnect the battery for a good amount of time pump the breaks and whatnot, let everything reset good and proper and watch the ring fall back on your finger.
