Can anyone tell me if the wheels on a 2001 S60 and a 2001 V70 have compatible (interchangeable) bolt patterns?
I love the 17 spoke "Tethys" (17 x 7.5) wheels that were optional on the S60 and would like to put a set on my 2001 V70.
Thanks in advance, Brian
I get so many comments on the looks of the car wherever I stop, even at red lights! How are you going to do it though? Are you going to buy 4 alloys? That will cost an arm and a leg...
Yannis

I will e-mail them to you tomorrow as it is kinda late, now, and I need to go to bed.
If you want to buy those alloys you must order them froma Volvo dealer. But Tirerack has a similar set (not exactly the same but close) in 16" and 17"...I do not recall the name but if you open up a Car&Driver or Road Track you will see them in the back pages where they advertise.

Yannis

You can generall find them used online as well. I saw a set on ebay once. If you email me a photo of that V70 with those wheels, I'll put it on our server and link it here. I'm curious to see what it looks like myself.
[This message has been edited by [email protected] (edited 11-15-2001).]

FYI, wheels are interchangeable between any fwd Volvo except the 40-series. This includes the 850 S70 V70, new V70, S60 and S80. So there are a ton of cool Volvo wheels out there to choose from.
They'll even fit an older rwd volvo if you have the right spacers.

Yannis,
I am really interested to see what your car looks like as well. What I also want to see is the S60 with Almathea wheels, I think that would look really good.
The Moda R3 at TireRack is similar to the Tethys, and they only cost $199.

AAARims.Com has the Tethys for $275 each.
-Drew

How do you attach a picture here? Does it have to be a certain size? What if the image is larger (in Kb) than permitted...how do you "shrink" it?
Let me know and I will be glad to post one or two or more pics.
Yannis

It will need to be hosted somewhere. Do you have them online somewhere or not? If you don't, email them to me [email protected] and I'll put them on our server and post them. If you have them online, find the address of the pic and post it between these two bracketed codes.

That's an interesting factoid. That's hilarious that you guys are competitors. Perhaps one of these weekends the small DC group who is active down here will have to come up for a visit.
On the pics, I received them and will be putting them up this afternoon. If you don't mind, I may put them in the gallery at some point. I need to update the V70 gallery so that it matches the format I've changed over to on the XC. Then I'll add it. I've been thinking of doing sections of each gallery of users cars, though that could be more work than I care to devote to the project, so I may limit it to cars that have been changed from stock form such as yours. That'll at least narrow it down a little and give the readers something different to look at. BTW, the car looks great. I'll post the pics here for sure as soon as I upload them this afternoon.

I always wondered where Volvo got the names for their wheels. I think it would be neat to have a master list of all the OEM Volvo wheels and their names. It would make a great resource. Anyone here know the names of the older Volvo wheels...700, 200, 100 series cars?
-Drew
I do think that a Red V70 T5 looks great anyway but those wheels do set it apart.
About the alloy names, I just got curious one day because my sales people jad always been making comments "where the h... do they find these names?". MIMAS did ring a bell from a long-gone astronomy class and aroused suspicions. BTW, a lot more alloys are astronomy related such as "ARRAKIS", "LYSITHEA", "ADRASTEA", etc.
Lastly, yes, Phil belongs to the "enemy" camp...it does get out of hand sometimes but I guess that is one of the FUN parts of life!

Yannis
