We have the cold weather package on our 2002 S60, which includes headlight wipers. I have noticed (especially at highway speeds) that when I spray the windshield washer fluid, I can smell it for a short period of time in the cabin. Now, I'm guessing this is coming from the washer fluid spray on the headlights that is finding it's way to the vents. We do not notice this in our S40 though. Has anybody else ever experienced this? Is it something out of the ordinary that should be examined closer or is it just a quirk to live with? Thanks in advance.

yes, that is normal. Try using a solution that has less alcohol in it.
Yannis

This is very normal. I've experienced the smell on every care I've ever owned, Volvo and non-Volvo.

Not only is it norma, but it is not the headlight washers. It is the windshield washers. The cowl air intake is right there.
-- Rich
