Hello everybody!

I just bought a 2018 V60 (2019 Early model) and i didn't receive a COC (Certificate of Conformity) along with car registration documents.

Can anyone help me with a copy of their COC for a similar car? I need this to show at my local Technical Inspection (like TUV in Germany) when i register the car on my name.

Car specs: Vovlo V60, production year 2018, Diesel D4 - 140kW/4250rpm, EG-Typ: e4*2007/46*1315*02, Emissions standard: EURO6;WLTP;BG;PI/CI; M, N1

Hi,
You need a COC issued for your vehicle, not for a similar one.
This document can be purchased in Bucharest from Primus Auto & Excellence Cars. The cost iirc is around 200 euros (1000 lei).

Now i read a little about this COC, and it has to be for a specific car… i thought it was a “general document” that is valid for all V60 D4. Tomorrow i have an appointment with RAR (Technical inspection)…i’ll see how it goes without that document. Just spoke on the phone with Volvo dealer and the cost for the COC is 300euro + VAT (19%)

Unfortunately, you won't be able to register the car in Romania without a valid CoC. That is, unless you bribe someone. :)

I’m quite sure they will reject me tomorrow…but i have the appointment, so i’ll go. I saw it’s written on their website this CoC is mandatory for WLTP tested vehicles…guess they want to see emissions values, but those are also written in owner’s manual…
To me it seems it’s only a piece of paper… actually, a very expensive piece of paper :D

Went to RAR today and i didnt get rejected from the start. They checked the car and actually they will try and obtain the data they need from the manufacturer for a fee of aprox 100 euro (about 500lei). They will call me when it’s done (about 3 weeks), i go pay the fee and in about 1 hour i will issue the car’s documents. Until i have an answer from them, problem seems to be solved.

So, the problem of the COC was solved for 430 lei - about 87 euro.
Advice for all Romanian readers: don't rush to the Volvo stealer (i wrote it correctly) and pay 360 euro for that piece of paper. First go to RAR, ask them to help you and you may be lucky and save some money. ;)

Just to get this cleared up - you were able to get the CoC from the guys at RAR?
Was this a one off or is it part of their standard procedure?

Yes, i got the CoC from the RAR.
This is standard procedure. They try to obtain it from the manufacturer, and if they can, they call you and you go pay 430 lei for the service. If they can’t obtain it, you have to go to the dealer.

(1) COC is issued for a particular VIN number.
(2) I was able to get it from Volvo Cars. I made an inquiry at [email protected] and after a few iteration my request was forwarded to a person responsible for issuing COC. It costed be 150 or 250 EUR.
(3) If you don't succeed with Volvo Cars, you can try coceurope.eu. I know some people got their certificates there.
