OK I'm gonna whine now my insurance company of 10 years just announced that they are going to cancel my insurance policy on my house and 2 volvos, I have 2 tickets in those 10 years and 2 minor accidents both low speed in car-park dings. I am 37 and generally having a real hard time believing that I am a bad risk. The tickets were 77 in a 65 and 50 in a 35 (OK so maybe they don't like that one) Anyone have similar experience or am I just lucky ?

1) The company could be running off it's line of business. Most Insur Co. will do wthi when they are planning to cease opertions in the future.

2) If your claims have all been recent, the company may be considering you a risk and dropping your policy. Tickets usually only matter when you get enough that it moves you to a new 'risk' catagory, but it does vary from Co. to Co.

I'd call em up and ask why they have chossen not to renew you, many states require that they inform you of the reason.

I think that you just might be lucky, I have had the pleasure of receiving 5 tickets.... And (knock on wood) no accedents. I am 18 years old and Farmers doubled my insurance from 3000 to 6000 a year... Kinda steep dont yah think?? Umm lets see I have gotten a speeding ticket, 67 in a 50 zone, unsafe lane change, following too closeley, stereo violation, and seatbelt ticket. Since those i have curbed my driving style to that of an old lady until i get to the track
. Then again when the police in your town see your car and flip a U-turn so they can follow you, you might be a lil more at risk...

I was working a few jobs like about 50 hrs a week while i went to highschool, and the pay was good (for a highschool job). But since then i changed carriers and that went down to 3200 a year, then went back to farmers and somehow ended with 1200 a year. wink wink my secret.

I wrote to the insurance company and complained about them dropping coverage on my policy, I got an email response with the reasons, some of their information was plain wrong, after about 10 emails back and forth they are going to renew my coverage, so maybe they are not so bad after all. I'll reserve judgement until I see the premium though...
