I just got the S60 R back from the OSD trip a few days ago and I’ve been driving it like a maniac. I drove it tonight from San Diego to Bakersfield. The car drives great on the freeway. I raced a 300ZX and a Mercedes with no problems. I just love how it pulls away from everything at 70mph and above.
I almost got caught with my pants down at a light tonight. I took the car out tonight to cruise around town and noticed a car from behind trying to keep up. I stopped at a red light and I noticed the car just hanging back in the lane beside me...just keeping the car rolling. The light turned green and I noticed the car tried to take off on me with a good rolling start. I wasn’t even ready for him or thinking it was going to be a race, but I took off after him. I caught him by the time I ended 2nd and passed him in 3rd . I was throwing thru the shifts pretty quick trying not to get beat by this crappy car.
I noticed that my clutch tends to stick right after I throw the shift. Kind of like a suction cup releasing itself from a window. Is this normal? My past cars didn’t have this problem, but this might be a safety deal from Volvo. I was able to reproduce the clutch problem again and again when I’m on the car aggressively.
Do I need to have the dealer look at it? Or is this from the clutch getting to warm? What do the racers out there recommend as a RPM shift point? I’ll probably tone it down in another week as any new car owner, but I occasionally want to challenge another driver.

Bryan
