So there we were this afternoon, the wife and I, returning from a wedding on the eastern side of Washington state, driving over Blewett Pass with the cruise set at about 60 mph when suddenly a deer jumped up over the guard rail on the right hand side of the road directly into our path. I NAILED the brake pedal and I could actually feel the Emergency Brake Assistance come into play followed by the Anti-lock Braking System. Needless to say we stopped in plenty of time to avoid encountering the deer. The wife was quite impressed as well, once her heart settled back down from her throat.
I LOVE OUR XC90!!!

Awesome...
I know the feeling. I've had an OH SH!! moment in our XC90 and it behaved perfectly. It's amazing how the electronics in these vehicles can bring a 6000 lb + beast to a stop in a snap AND maintain control.
canndale...go have a ....make it
Tim

That 6080 is gross vehicle weight, i.e. including full passenger and luggage load. The T6 curb weight is 4610. You've added yourself twice.
IOW, 6000 is correct for a fully loaded T6.
Tom.

I recently used the XC90 to make a haul to the county dump with my brother-in-law. With the load removed the XC90 weighed in at around 6100 pounds with fluids, two adult males, and maybe 50-75 pounds of cargo. I was astonished to say the least.

Re: weight (XC-Ski)

Agreed. The county landfill scale only has to measure the difference from when a truck comes in and when it goes out. The absolute value isn't a goal. A highway scale is more accurate, since it's used for regulatory purposes on pasing vehicles. Both of them however are built for much larger weights, and won't be perfect on cars, etc.
Tom.
