it looks like the clear coat is beginning to bubble and delaminate on the body color strips over the cargo area glass. Anything I can do to slow or stop this process, or is it time to start saving up to have them resprayed at some point? Looks like the PS fender might be going that way too. (A bummer, because mostly this car looks maybe 5 years old. )

What body colored strips?
As for your fender, my guess is that it's been repainted at some point

JRL, sorry I could have been more specific. the glass aft of the rear doors...there's an insert between the metal unibody of the roofline and the glass itself. They're meant to mimic the door frames and keep that line flowing back to the D pillar. I can't tell if it's also metal or plastic. Anyway, those are starting to bubble on both sides. And you are exactly right about the fender. I can faintly see the traces of a pinstripe on it; it isn't the original fender and likely got a cut rate spray. I knew that panel had been redone and suspected the work was sub par because it doesn't exactly match. Car is silver, by the way.

*sigh* I figured. When I have the means, I'd love to get all the niggles redone!
