My s70 looks pretty good on the outside but the leather has some wear on the inside. I tried cleaning the steering wheel to start and I noticed the color was coming off and it was looking kind of pale (color is tan). I thought it might have been the cleaner so I just used a little bit of water and I got the same result.. What's the trick to cleaning without losing the color? Is there even a way?

Leatherique (http://leatherique.com/)

I used to use Lexol and now I'm shocked and appalled at myself for not doing more research. Leatherique is a longer process than most and its also the reverse of most cleaning/conditioning methods. You condition it first, liberally applying the conditioner and leaving it for at the very least 24 hours with as many of those hours with the car in the hot sun to heat up the interior. It forces the junk out of the leather and replaces it with conditioner. Then you take the Prestine Clean lotion and capture all the dirt, which is now on the surface. Its really remarkable. That company also sells a do-it-yourself dye kit, which I've never tried, but seems to have a happy following.
