I was on holiday in Malaysia some years ago and the car prices are ridiculous. That V50 2.4i's base price is 185.000 ringgit, which is about $US53.000 ... <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/eek.gif" BORDER="0">

53k is the base price for the 1,6d here.. (Norway)<br>My all options T5 2wd would have set me back 115k.<br>Needless to say, i bought mine used.

Sure, but the average household income in Norway is US$83.000 while the average household income in Malaysia is US$12.600. Definately a key factor, its still bloody expensive.
