Anybody else have their window trim hazing over again? I had almost every single piece replaced a little over a year ago after much discussion and waiting. It did and is now again turning milky. Just another disappointment and another reason we will not buy Volvo again.

Re: Chrome (or chrome-like) window trim hazing again! (JoVolvo)

I found that the biggest problem is with brushless car washes. The chemicals that they use to clean will etch the trim moldings. My 04 XC90 started to develope this condition after I started going to a certain car wash. I used Brasso to clean the moldings and stopped going to the brushless car wash. The proplem stopped and my 06 XC90 has never had the proplem and I wash it mostly by hand.
I had the same problem with my CLK320 on the anodized trim due to the car wash.

Re: Chrome (1v8volvo)

Can't you just get it replaced again?

Tim

I echo 1V8Volvo's response 100%. Had four (4) set's done under warranty until I figured out the local brushless wash was THE cause. The system is a "PDQ" Brushless was, which works great, until I saw the milky molding issue again.

Re: (PackerXC90)

Had them replaced once again. Haven't used the carwash before or after. This time, at least it wasn't such a deal to get them to replace them.

Re: (JoVolvo)

Milky molding sounds like the car wash may be using a harsh alkali with their detergents.
