Hey there. Relatively new 07 S60R owner here, needing some warranty work.
Chicago area owners, which Volvo dealer(s) do you recommend for service?
I work in SW OH, so Cincy/Dayton guys, if you have a strong recommendation, I'm open to your input as well.
Thanks in advance!

Oak Park Volvo has never hurt me, I have used them once on my 05(Wheel bearing iirc) and twice for regular Maintenance on the 07. They are a bit high on price but you say its warranty work so that should not matter.
EAX has a good dealer up north, i can not remember, but Joe may also know a good one.
Other then that the others in DuPage County are umm less then mediocre.
Hope that helps.

Re: Chicago and southwest OH Volvo dealer recommendations (bingo1)

No question - Patrick Volvo in Schaumburg. Talk to Bill Oswald, the Asst serv mgr. They have always done a spectacular job for both of our cars, and been more than fair on price. Ive tried several other dealers, and they have been by far the best (for me at least; everyone has their own stories, I sure)
I would say that at all costs avoid Fields in particular (based on my experiences).
You can mention my name (Ron Grove) at Patrick, and Bill "should" remember me and take good care of you.

1. Fields Volvo in Highland park - the service advisors are awesome guys, and absolutely mod friendly. Techs are not the best and you can't expect excelent job from a dealer.
2. Oak Park Volvo - heard only good things about them but never been there
3. Patrick Volvo Shaumburg - Very bad experience. Had to take my car there 3 times to have my power steering reservoir replaced(very common issue with the R). They were telling me that the car was fine and I was crazy or something. I had to talk to the manager to finally get it fixed. I also had a loose inatake hose right before the turbo which was messing up with the maf sensor - they never figured it out and had to take it to Fields.
If you want quality indy work you can try Bryan's Garage in Skokie. They can also have warranty cover your service.

Ive got pics of the rear upright bolts almost completely backed out of the a-arms. As I said, everyone will have a different experience.....

I beleive you, all dealers do crapy work. Fields have left my upper engine mount bolt loose which i lost on my way home but my overall experience with them is great.
Lets put it this way - there is no dealer that does excelent job.

If no warranty:
Bryan's Garage, Evanston IL
Dealership network isn't the best, but never been to Oak Park.
Duh...
Ok, Warranty work. You are in DuPage county, I would say try Oak Park, based on distance alone (not including Patrick here). I wasn't too happy with Fields, but I didn't get one of their good guys. They have knowledgeable people there, but it is luck of the draw unless you are willing to ask for someone in particular.

Fields left all my wheels torqued at 80, I took a torque wrench in front of the dealership and showed it to the manager, They gave me a free oil change for that.
(reason for checking torque, I lost a wheel on my VW after tireshop didnt tighten my lugs)
