The check stop lamp warning message came on this evening.
The red hazzard triangle light came on.

I replaced the bulb in the right rear bumper cover the other day.The small bulb that is also housed with the reflector.

When I purchased the XC90 a few weeks ago, the bulb was out.

All the bulbs seem to be working now, according to my wife and son.

Since I didn't replace them in a pair, could it be, the issue?
Voltage reading from new bulb to old bulb?

Are the brake lights staying on or are they working properly? There is an issue with some 2006 XC90's (chassis numbers 134000-256551) with water getting to the CEM and causing, among other things, the brake lights to be on all the time.
If its not this, then try cleaning the contatcs for the bulbs and applying a thin film of dielectric grease to the base of the bulb.
