Hello everyone,

Here's the *short* story with my 2010 Volvo XC60 AWD:

-"Check Stop Lamp" error came up on my dash.

-Right-rear stop bulb was burnt out so I replaced both stop bulbs with SYLVANIA 7506 Red LED Bulb ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CO1F62Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ).

-Both of the LED side stop bulbs and the top LED bar are all functioning properly.

-"Check Stop Lamp" error still appears.

Is it possible that the LED bulbs are incompatible with the outage detection system?

Is there a way to 'reset' the sensor?

Thanks!

I used the 7506 bulbs but the clear version and silverstar so not LED and had no issues when I replaced them. I had the same notification on the dash and then it disappeared once the bulb was changed.

Yes the problem is with LED light being different than regular bulbs. Look at my post for LED headlight on XC60. Basically if it is a light that the Volvo computer monitors, it looks for a certain resistance (bulbs have resistance which LEDs don't). If that resistance isn't there, the computer assumes it is a burned bulb. The solution is to fool the computer by adding a parallel resistor. The down side is you will never get that message again since the computer is just monitoring the resistor now and not your LED bulb.

Has anyone found a solution ? I have a 2004 xc90 with the check stop lamp message. ONE brake light is out/ New bulb, new wiring harness, fuses OK and I can hear the realty clicking in the back. ONE light out of three is out. Any solution to your issue ?
