I'm hoping someone can help me identify this code. I have a 2007 R, and the "Check Engine" light came on the dash at start up this morning. I had a Scan Guage attached to the OBDII port, and low and behold, it captured one code - P0456. I cleared the code, and the check engine light went away and did not return so far today. Can anyone tell me what this code is? I can take it to the dealer, but information is always nice! Any help would be greatly appreciated. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif" BORDER="0">

Re: Check Engine - Code P0456 (cosmo36)

THis is a known issue which requires a software reload to fix. Go to the dealer. <p>

Re: Check Engine - Code P0456 (Needsdecaf)

Thank you, Needsdecaf. I have to go back anyway because I have a stuck brake caliper that is causind a very anoying squeel / hum. I had a leaking slave cylinder that destroyed the clutch (it leaked on the pad and soaked it - replaced under waranty), and I think they didn't get something back together right. I also recently had to have a factory software reload, so interesting that this is a software problem. This car has had more problems than my 2004. I hope this is not a trend!
