Hey everyone, my mom is getting close to the end of her warranty on her 07 S80 and is looking at different options, one of them being having Volvo Certify hers. Can anyone tell me what it costs to do so?

I've heard it could be as much as $4K for my R, but is it the same for the S80's?

How is the warranty running out? Its a 4 year, 50K mile. So you already came close to putting 50K on that car in just 2 years? Wow.

I wouldn't know about the warranty. Just weird how your mom drives so much.

Yes, she is approaching 40K, I think she's at 35-36 right now. They live 2 hours north of us and they are basically 60-100 miles from anywhere. So, yeah, they drive a lot. She'll get to 50K by the end of the year. They are just trying to plan what to do when the time comes so they aren't down to 5K miles left and are scrambling to either certify it or trade it in and buy new again.

You can't CPO it. She will have to buy a VIP warranty. All that entails is having the dealer inspect the car, and take the inspection report and send it to whichever dealer offers her the best price for the VIP plan that she wants.

Prices vary on trim level. Obviously a 3.2 will be cheaper than a V8, and a non-sport package S80 should be cheaper than a sport package equipped car.

Oh yeah, that's right, I forgot it was called the VIP. So really, they don't do anything to it, just inspect it and check out the maintenance records and that's it?

On top of what you pay for the VIP, do you have to still pay for future regular maintenance also?

Yes to both.

If the car has been reliable, I'd pass.
