lol.. don't worry about it.. I actually wrapped mine with header wrap... The engine bay is feels overall cooler, but theres no way to really tell unless I can get the actual temps. Certain members will say that you want to leave it alone because you want the heat to dispurse. I think there was a thread a while back where it showed that the ote pipe, aka charge air pipe, was one of the cooler parts of the engine bay. I could be wrong.

It's not that pipe heating the engine bay.

Ceramic coat the turbine housing, down pipe, and exhaust manifold. Then put on a turbo blanket, exhaust mani blanket and wrap the down pipe.

Seriously, the outlet temps of the turbo are going to be 400, 450 at the most with a turbo pushed way out of its efficency range. The exhaust temps leaving the head can hit up to 1600 degrees.

Ceramic adds mass and retains heat. NOT good for the OTE pipe. It is the hot pipe and if it gets airflow over it it may give up a little heat. You do not want it to retain heat. Under a hard long pull the pipe will be hotter than the underhood surrounding temps. If you were going to do anything with that pipe it would be to make one of a finned extrusion so it loses heat.

dude, it's coat not "coate"
LOL.

Not trying to be a ass 4th day or not smoking after 10 years of doing it just grumpy.
I would think if you keep the heat in the ote pipe it would get cooled with my fmic and water meth injection thats why I'm asking. I have a hybrid waiting to go in and its ceramic coated already. I was thinking about getting my down pipe done but not sure if its really worth it. Just trying to come up with something new that helps out the R thats all.

I think the wrap would be pretty good at keeping all those dirty ****ing hand prints and marks off the pipe also while cooling it :D

What about this baby any benefit for the $600 plus cost it would take to get it and then you would have to custom fit it. I want a bigger ote pipe.
if your going to do that might as well save yourself $550 or so and just go to an exhaust shop and they can weld one together for like $100 plus the IPD 04/05 adapter for $65. Plus, that thing ships from Sweden lol you'll be waiting for weeks probably.

I'd be down for a group buy/ install from a local exhaust shop :)

You already got other dp and exhaust and still underhood temp trouble

I could fry an egg on top of hood with oem dp and exhaust, even with only cruising around, even removed the weatherstrip back then. Since I got the dp and exhaust I leave weatherstrip in place and can play around and temps stay cool under hood.
Are you sure you got exhaust and dp or did the seller just told you the car had it? if not oem probably homemade instead of good stuff like ipd, tme, heico.

After going through two charged air pipes I went with the d088

I then had it ceramic coated, and installed
