Does any one know where I can scare me up the air dam that goes under the inter cooler/radiator and behind the front bumper for an 850?
I was looking under the bumper at the hoses connect my car's windscreen washer pump to find a leak and noticed there where two pieces of plastic that where hanging down on the right and left side secured by a 10 or 12 mm bold. Seems an air dam goes there.
There are no wrecking yards close to where I live that have an 850.
Thanks.
What about a local Volvo repair shop? They may or may not have the part but could probably locate it.

They're called air guides and there are two, one small and one larger. The small one is cheap, the large one is somewhere a bit north of 100 bucks.
Most used ones will have one or some of the tabs cracked or broken (which is why they get replaced quite often) as they won't stay on withour ALL the tabs in one piece

does anyone have pics of these air guides? I only have the front air guide... but I took it off as one of the tabs cracked and broke off. I want to make sure that this is in fact what I need before I order the parts. Thanks!

It's just one of those parts that's there, does do something that's necessary, but not a thing of beauty to look at

Re: (JRL)

Thanks JRL. I know what you meant. I speak the lingo known as smarta ss pretty well. Probably not as good as you however. But I will do my best in learning from your posts!
Im wondering if this part (front air guide) that is listed on the FCPGroton site is infact the part I need. And I futher wonder if the rear air guide that is listed is the more unique/rare part that only came on the early 850's ('93) which extended further back along the engine/subframe.
And yes, I could go to my Volvo dealer and ask the idiot behind the counter to look it up for me... but I'd rather not because that would probably take him 20 minutes to even find the right part. Which is giving him too much credit as Im sure he wouldnt be able to find it.
Which brings me back to my request for the pic of the two unsightly parts. Anyone? Anyone?

Probably not.
Air guides break all the time so the parts guys should be familiar.
V70s (and S70's) also have 2 air guides, one large and one small

When I get the one to replace the one that I am missing, I will make some clips and attach them to the plastic brackets with rivets and support washers. It won't break again. Mine was missing when I bought the car.

What I should have stated was I will make some re-enforcement brackets the shape of the tabs that hold the airguide to the bumper rails. I am sure that the clip thingee's will do their job as designed. When I am in process of doing this Ill get pics.
http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo850other.htm
This is the link to the site that has the part for cheap. Provided by a gentleman in this tread.
Steve S.

Yep! Thanks Steve! That be the one! The second picture, that is where I am going to bend me some stainless and attach it to, them tabs up there on them frame rails. I think that will keep that thing from breaking off again.
