My rear left door did the same thing. Wire connection for the actuator might be loose. First it will only lock some of the time then it will quit working when the wire finaly disconnects. I don't know about the 240 trunk but you might need to take off some sort of interior panel to get to where the lock is and connect the wire agian.
Central Locking
the central locking doesnt always unlock my trunk, and i only have the service key for the volvo. whats going on with my trunk, any ideas?

I don't know if this is it, but on some newer cars, the valet key won't open the trunk. You may want to check that also.
