The "leather" on the center arm rest between the driver and passenger seat is peeling. I have seen this problem on other S80s. There is now cloth liner showing where I rest my arm.
What is the suggested fix?
Let me know if you need a picture to understand problem.

try posting this in the detailing forum although I am pretty sure your only choice is a leather repair shop

Re: Center arm rest "peeling" (sviolette)

Replace it. The replacement part is relatevely inxpensive - ~ $70 installed, if I remember correctly.
And you can just purchase the part and install it on your own. It is a simple task.
Mine lasted for 4.5 years and 75K miles.

Re: Center arm rest "peeling" (Volvo6850)

Thanks for the tip. Called dealer. He wanted $91 but, he was willing to work on the price.
I never considered calling the dealer because his parts are usually 50% overpriced.
Thanks again

Good,
Do not quote me on price though, as it was more than a year ago and I could not find the service order to look it up. Though I could almost swear, it was in 70th (less than 80).
I would pay $90 too. There is nothing what you can do cheaper, short of locating this part on some junk yard and installing it yourself.

i would go for the dealer part. even if it's more expensive it's bound to look at best (at least on par with the rest of the upholstry... which is darn good IMHO!)
