sorry if I havn't introduced myself, but I don't browse SS as much as I would like to, anyways, to cut things short.

and I also understand that Boston Volvo has an amazing price for the wheels too, but since Canucks often get raped on shipping, I believe this is one of the best deal you can have on this side of the border.

Price (Canadian dollars) as of now, its $220 per wheel, if more than 6 sets are sold, the price will be around $800 per set, it inclds centre caps, but no wheel bolts/lug nuts or the air valve thing, there are about 36 of 'em available, and they are from a Volvo dealership, not the back of my trunk.

contact please IM me for more info, or you can talk to me on the Waterdown meet this sunday, May 28th here's some info : http://www.canadianvolvoclub.org/otherevents.htm

me and couple others are working on creating a GTA Volvo club, so this is just a way to show our commitment to it.

Re: Cdn S40/V50 owners, 18" Medusas group buy. (ChiggaSam)

Hey, I'm on the verge of grabbing some Medusas myself. But where did you get those prices from? I think Boston Volvo's price is still better. They're $385US after the rebate, albeit without the $40 centre caps. I don't think that conversion to CDN, GST (7% now or 6% after July 1st), duty (6% - Made in Norway), and shipping will cost more than $400
.

I might make it on Sunday but still unsure.

Hold on here... the price, from Boston Volvo is, after rebate, 105$ U.S. per wheel. At today's exchange rate (1.117), that means about 118$ CAD per wheel.

That's quite the price gap!

Have you talked to John from Boston Volvo about this? Perhaps a group buy from him, and *not* using a courrier service would be a better option.
BTW, doing the brokering is *very* easy, I've done it before when I had ordered some home-theater seats...

Correction. They're $145.67US each for a total of $582.68US for 4. Less $200 rebate that's $382.68US for 4 or $95.67US each ($106.86CDN)

Man, I'm plugging Boston Volvo today like it's going out of style. And I haven't even bought the rims yet.

its from local GTA Volvo dealership, I won't say who since we havn't worked out on an "official relationship" with them yet.

but keep this in mind, 582.68 is the price you'll be tax'd, and its very unlikely to avoid being charge duty on brand new wheels, and cheapest shipping would be no less than $130-150 usd.

You can ship them to a UPS Store in Niagara, NY, USA for $65US and pick them up across the border. Take your chances by claiming they're a gift and you save, save, save! Plus, it'll be a nice road trip. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

That's the point I was trying to make above. If you were doing a group-buy from the U.S. (let's say Boston Volvo), then you shouldn't be using shipping (i.e. UPS or DHL etc..) to bring over 10 sets of mags (40 wheels) from the U.S. Let's face it, shipping is ok for small packages that need to get there overnight..

But for such a large shipment, you would want to to use a bonded carrier to bring the stuff over. Googling "bonded carrier Boston" gets you an extensive list. Just an idea that you should investigate...
