I just bought a V40 wagon without the CD Changer and I bought it from my local audio shop. I told them the make and model and they knew the exact changer that would work with the radio controls. They installed in in the back in less than 30 minutes. Changer and installation were about $325 together.

I had the prewire, but it didn't work.(Don't ask me why) They had to use an adapter to connect it (that ran up the install cost), but it still works off the controls on the radio.
