My 2000 S70 GLT SE needs a new catalytic convertor. I was hoping my technician could get one much cheaper than the Volvo dealer but due to the extensive heat sheilding it will still cost me about $845.
What have you experienced when replacing your catalytic convertor?

Re: Catalytic Convertor (Calvert)

buy a universal one and it'll be cheaper
you may need a rear o2 sensor extension though if the new universal cat does not have a position that is close to the original spot.

Re: Catalytic Convertor (Calvert)

Get one from Erie Vovo http://www.erievovo.com. They are only like $350ish for an entire downpipe so you can do the swap in 30min without welding or heavy equipment.
Cheers,
Prospero
