Re: Carbon Fiber Fabric Wrapper interior! (slowvo)

I say try it out, no point paying $500 for the real thing since it doesn't really save any weight any way. I have seen this in person, and it is cool. Best part is it is reversible so when the CF craze dies down you can remove it if desired. Seems a little on the pricey side for just being a fabric, but that is the price you pay for the CF-like look I guess. Definitely cheaper than the real thing though, some of the CF I got cost $200+/yd since it is aerospace quality.

That's the exact stuff that AJ Racing is using, I think.
It feels textured and woven and looks really sharp. Might be a decent alternative to real CF if you were planning to go that route.

Not smooth like most real CF would be since it would be epoxied and clear coated but I kind of prefer the texture for the interior. You would only need maybe 2 yards to cover the center console, door trim, etc. So $80 for the material, $20 for the can of high quality adhesive and you have a pretty cool mod.

Re: Carbon Fiber Fabric Wrapper interior! (slowvo)

LOL. Nope. While I think it looks cool CF is not my thing. I plan on having some CF exterior parts and I am going to be a pimp and paint it, maybe leaving just a strip of it CF for an accent. Naked CF everywhere is cool looking, but not my style. But if it is good enough for high end luxury cars it isn't a bad thing, it gets bad when the ricer scene CF overlaid every part imaginable.
I think this would look good and still classy, but I didn't just spend $$ painting my interior to an all gunmetal.charcoal color scheme to spend more money covering it, lol.

Yeah, but I still have to do the small parts like door handles, gear shift, steering wheel insert. I also have to redo the sunroof thanks to the crappyness of the Loctite adhesive I used only on the sunroof. it will take forever to get the sunroof out and redone. I'm being lazy and not doing it.

I like it but have a beige interior. Not sure which would look good. Maybe the Gray or silver.
