Go to leave for work this morning, car won't start. No crank at all. All electronics working fine.
Come home at lunch, get the truck right next to her (2004 S40), try again, nothing. Ok, pop the hood, and put the window down, it's hot in here, been in the sun all day! Oops, take a phone call, get back in the car. Try it again, and she starts right up....what the? Shut it off, try again, fires right up.

Sounds like something is loose, any ideas?

The car should start regardless of an open hood or not, so it's probably not related to that. But definitely weird. How's your battery?

I don't know about the battery, but might be an issue. Was 38 degrees F this morning, mid 60s at lunch. So if it's weak, might have been the cold that did it in. But like I said, at lunch, same thing, no crank at all. All electronics and windows working, pop the hood to take a look, and leave for a minute, come back and starts right up. Now she's running fine, hood open or not, starts right up every time....makes me think a loose contact somewhere.
