If you are referring to the the rock chips around the grill and bumper (painted areas) then try polishing, then clay bar, and then re-do the waxing. If your rock chips are that bad you may need touch-up paint.
I have actually liked the protection of the turtle wax hard shell wax. I usually use that as a base, and then put a better wax (P-21S) as a second coat. The turtle wax protects well and seems to out-last many other waxes.
