My passenger's side fog lamp and fog lamp grille, which weren't damaged in the accident and, therefore, weren't replaced:

The new driver's side fog lamp and fog lamp grille that were installed:

Aren't these European spec?
Needless to say, I negotiated with my insurance company that they replaced the older parts to match the new ones, as I was actually considering buying these. Funny thing is, I had already called two parts departments and asked them about these and they both said they couldn't get them. How could the body shop get them without even trying?
They also replaced two of my tires.
These are my original Rosso's:

And these are the ones the shop installed:

The most apparent differences are the red lettering and the "N5" instead of the "95Y" rating.
What are these? European spec too or the ones that come in the 2006 U.S. models?
I told the insurance company I was going to leave with these tires for now, but I have to take my car back in a week to have my fog lamp changed. I could have them change the tires then too. Should I or are these OK? Other posters were really "clear" about not mixing tires. Am I mixing here or are these pretty much the same?
Thanks in advance for the advise!

Re: Car came out of the body shop with European parts (Razor1973)

Be careful on the tires...
There are three versions of the PZero Rossos in 235/40x18 shown on Tire Rack.
One are 95Y load rating ($229), one 91Y ($212) and the N5 which are OEM Porsche and only Z Rated with no load rating ($214).
You need to get the 95Y otherwise you will have different sidewall flex happening between different tires in corners.
Notice in on your N5s it does NOT say "Extra Load" like on your 95Ys. R is heavy and needs that extra strength.

Thanks for the advise, Kelly, as usual. I will be talking to my insurance company and having them replace these tires when they install the new fog lamp mechanism.

Re: Car came out of the body shop with European parts (Razor1973)

Hi,
I'm from the UK and I took delivery of an 06 V70R in March. My fog grilles are open but I don't have the clear projector type fogs. Is there any way in which you would be able to get the part number off of that clear fog light please?
Thanks
Hedley

Re: Car came out of the body shop with European parts (Razor1973)

I was actually able to order the open fog grills from my dealer (Bob Penkhus of Colorado Springs) for about 42-43 each. I was surprised that they could get them for me.
For those that are looking for them try Red at Brentwood Volvo (I think it is brentwoodvolvo.com). They might have them cheaper.
...should be getting them end of this week.
And yeah, what is up with the clear fog lights? Are they a euro spec fog light?
Kelly, check your paypal (you should have my payment for your CAI).
Thanks!!

There has been discussion on this before. It seems as if there is no rhyme or reason as to the open grills vs. the closed. Seems like a good spot to mount a brake cooling duct, though (or a CAI obviously).
Also, an X-acto knife and a steady hand will convert the closeds into opens in no time flat!

In the sales literature for the UK it says Projector Fog Lights, the ones I have are reflector type whereas the new ones on this car after the repair are projector type

Re: Car came out of the body shop with European parts (basher)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the R fog lights were ever reflectors. My fog pattern is a definitely projector pattern.
But there is a difference in the clear projectors in that pic and the ones in all the Rs I've seen.
It even looks like it is made out of glass (vs our plastic ones).

That is the correct PN for the OPEN grille. The other PN is also correct for the V70R foglamp assembly. It doesn't say anything else regarding different glass covers.
